Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue

Marvel Rivals players experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings, particularly affecting heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, can expect a resolution soon. Developers have acknowledged a 30 FPS bug impacting damage calculations for several characters, including Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom. While a precise fix date isn't available, the team is actively working on a solution anticipated for the January 11th Season 1 launch.

Launched in early December 2025, Marvel Rivals quickly gained popularity within the hero shooter genre. Despite initial balance concerns, the game boasts an impressive 80% player approval rating based on over 132,000 Steam reviews.

Recent reports highlighted a 30 FPS glitch causing decreased damage for certain heroes compared to higher FPS settings (60 or 120 FPS). A community manager confirmed the issue on the official Discord server, noting movement problems at lower frame rates impacting damage dealt. While a complete fix might take time, the Season 1 update scheduled for January 11th aims to address the problem.

The 30 FPS Damage Bug: A Deeper Look

The root cause appears to be linked to the game's client-side prediction system, a common programming technique to mitigate lag by displaying character movements before server confirmation.

The Discord post didn't fully list affected heroes or moves, but confirmed Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities as examples. The impact is more apparent against stationary targets than during live matches. If Season 1 doesn't fully resolve the issue, further updates are planned to address any remaining damage inconsistencies at lower FPS.
