Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly in Version 2.0. While initially providing character buffs and enemy resistances, elements now feature more direct interactions through Elemental Effects. This guide details these effects and the limited equipment currently leveraging them.
Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:
All six elements (Havoc, Glacio, Spectro, Fusion, Aero, Electro) inflict unique status effects. These often function as damage over time (DoT) effects. Dodging removes these stacks.
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks up to 2; at 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed, increasing with stacks; at 10 stacks, freezes the resonator (players can "Struggle" to thaw). |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks decrease over time, dealing Spectro DMG; more stacks = more DMG. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, then explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion | Deals periodic Aero DMG; stacks don't decrease with DMG. More stacks = more DMG. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK (-5% at 1-4 stacks, -7% at 5-9 stacks with Magnetized effect, -10% at 10 stacks). |
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:
Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets interact with them.
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
Only the reworked Spectro Rover (post-Version 2.0 storyline) applies Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle and a Shimmer effect, preventing stack decay.
Echoes and Echo Sets:
Currently, only the Eternal Radiance Echo Set benefits from Elemental Effects, primarily supporting Spectro Rover:
- Eternal Radiance (2pc): Spectro DMG +10%.
- Eternal Radiance (5pc): Inflicting Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s. 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
- Nightmare Echo: Increases DMG against Spectro Frazzle afflicted enemies by 100%. Provides a 12% Spectro DMG Bonus to the equipped Resonator.
While the potential for broader Elemental Effect integration exists, as of Version 2.0, its application remains primarily focused on the Spectro Rover and the Eternal Radiance Echo Set.
