Escape the Cursed Forest: A Simple, Non-Combat RPG
Embark on a unique RPG adventure as a skilled hunter trapped in a cursed forest. This minimalist game focuses on exploration, resource management, and strategic decision-making, rather than traditional combat.
The Premise:
You, the village's best hunter, arrive at a hunting tournament only to find the forest eerily deserted. The only clues are the remnants of other hunters' camps. Your journey to escape the cursed forest begins, fraught with strange occurrences and unpredictable encounters.
Key Features:
- Minimalist Gameplay: Control is intuitive, with a maximum of three buttons used at any given time, excluding the main menu.
- Character Creation: While character customization is limited, you can freely reroll stats until you're satisfied. Remember, stat increases upon leveling up are only visible on this screen; they cannot be checked in-game.
- Foria, the Quarter-Elf: A mysterious quarter-elf boy acts as your guide, offering assistance and crafting essential items.
- Exploration-Based Progression: Navigate the forest by exploring unexplored areas. The success of each exploration attempt depends on your character's stats and the area's "fog depth."
- Strategic Encounters: You'll encounter various creatures, from wolves to even frogs and rabbits! Combat is optional. You can use your bow and arrow to maintain distance and attack, or use wound medicine to heal. If caught, you can either attempt a risky withdrawal or use a flash ball provided by Foria to escape.
- Cloak System: Craft and layer cloaks from collected materials to enhance your abilities. Note that cloaks can tear and become unusable.
- Skill Selection: Choose from a range of randomly presented skills.
- Resource Management: Gather materials to craft items and manage your resources carefully.
- Autosave: The game features an autosave system, but it's not perfect (saving doesn't occur during battles). Exiting to the main menu is recommended to ensure your progress is saved.
