Application Description

Concerned about the security of your WiFi network? It's important to check for any potential intruders and assess vulnerabilities, especially those related to the WPS protocol. WPSApp is a tool designed to help you do just that by examining your network's security using the WPS protocol.

The WPS protocol enables you to connect to a WiFi network using an 8-digit pin, which is often predefined in the router. Unfortunately, the pins of many routers from various manufacturers are either known or can be calculated, posing a significant security risk. WPSApp utilizes these known pins to attempt a connection and determine if your network is vulnerable. It incorporates several algorithms for pin generation and includes some default pins. Additionally, it can calculate default keys for certain routers, display WiFi passwords stored on your device, scan devices connected to your network, and analyze the quality of WiFi channels.

Using WPSApp is straightforward. When scanning nearby networks, you'll notice networks marked with a red cross. These are considered "secure" because they have the WPS protocol disabled and their default password is unknown. Networks marked with a question mark have the WPS protocol enabled, but the pin remains unknown. In such cases, the app allows you to test the most common pins. Networks with a green tick are likely vulnerable, as they have the WPS protocol enabled and the connection pin is known. Alternatively, if a router has WPS disabled but its password is known, it will also appear in green, indicating that you can connect using the key.

To access certain features like viewing passwords, connecting on Android 9/10, and some additional functions, you need to be a Root user.

Please note that not all networks are vulnerable, and even if a network appears to be, it does not guarantee 100% vulnerability. Many companies have updated their router firmware to address these issues.

It's advisable to test your own network using WPSApp. If you find it vulnerable, take immediate action to enhance your security. Turn off the WPS protocol and change your password to a strong, personalized one.

From Android 6 (Marshmallow) onwards, you need to grant location permissions due to a new requirement implemented by Google. For more details, visit: Google's Android 6.0 Changes.

Some Samsung models use encryption, displaying passwords as a long series of hexadecimal digits instead of the actual password. If you need help decrypting them, search for information online or contact me directly.

Note that pin connection does not work on LG models with Android 7 (Nougat) due to issues with LG's software.
