Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. Using a standard 52-card deck, gameplay proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player bids on the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team expects to win in a round.
The player who wins the bid declares the "Tarneeb" (trump suit) and initiates a round of discarding "papers" (cards of a specified type). Other players must discard papers of the same type. The player who successfully discards a matching paper wins the "Bamh" (trick). The winner of the Bamh leads the next trick. Tarneeb papers outrank all other papers, with the highest-ranking Tarneeb paper winning the trick unless a higher-ranking Tarneeb paper is played.
A round concludes when all players have discarded their cards. Points are tallied. A team that successfully wins the number of Allmat they bid receives those points; the opposing team receives no points. If a team fails to meet their bid, the points they bid are deducted from their score and added to the opposing team's score along with the number of Allmat the opposing team won.
If a team bids for and wins 13 Allmat without specifically bidding for 13, they earn 16 points. A successful bid of 13 Allmat awards 26 points. Failure to achieve a bid of 13 Allmat results in a 16-point deduction.
The game ends when one team reaches a total score of 41 or more points, declaring them the winner.
