December 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the beloved Like a Dragon (LAD) series. Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio is celebrating in style, launching a fan vote to decide which iconic in-game items will become reality.
Over 100 items are up for grabs, ranging from the quirky (lingerie, incense, mahjong tiles) to the iconic (Kiryu's dragon mask, a karaoke microphone, even 20th-anniversary sake!). The top-voted item is guaranteed to be produced and released within the next two years, according to the RGG voting website.
Voting runs from February 8th, 2025, to March 21st, 2025. Cast your vote once daily! Following the voting period, a separate survey will determine the final design of the winning item.
Could More Yakuza Remakes Be on the Horizon?
RGG Studio first hinted at their 20th-anniversary plans in a December 8th, 2024, Twitter (X) post, commemorating their 19th anniversary. Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed gratitude to fans and teased upcoming events and announcements.
The 20th-anniversary celebrations kicked off with the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20th, 2025. While further details on other anniversary events remain under wraps, the studio's 10th-anniversary celebration, which included the announcement of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami remakes, offers a tantalizing glimpse of what might be in store. Fans eagerly anticipate more exciting news.

Recommended Specs are Easily Achievable
RGG Studio announced the PC requirements for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii via Twitter (X) on February 10th, 2025. The recommended graphics card, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or equivalent, should be readily available to most PC gamers.
With releases planned for older consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the PC requirements are relatively modest. RGG Studio also confirmed Steam Deck verification.
SEGA recently released a story trailer on YouTube, showcasing Majima's high-seas adventure, narrated by the Pirate King Raymond Law (voiced by Samoa Joe).
