Xbox Game Pass January 2025: New Games and Departures
Microsoft has unveiled its first Xbox Game Pass lineup of 2025, confirming several anticipated titles and revealing which games will be leaving the service. January is shaping up to be a strong month for subscribers.
The announcement, made via the official Xbox blog on January 7th, 2025, includes seven new games. Road 96, a choice-driven adventure, is already available across all Game Pass tiers (including PC). Six more titles join the roster later in the month: Lightyear Frontier (Preview), My Time at Sandrock, Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders, Rolling Hills, UFC 5 (Game Pass Ultimate only), and Diablo (Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass only). UFC 5 and Diablo arrive on January 14th, while the others launch on January 8th.
Rumors surrounding Diablo and UFC 5's arrival proved accurate, though their availability is limited to specific tiers. The remaining games are accessible with a standard subscription. Lightyear Frontier, a sci-fi title currently in early access, is included in this group.
Alongside the new games, several Game Pass Ultimate perks launched January 7th, including a weapon charm for Apex Legends and DLC for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball.
However, with new additions come departures. Six games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15th: Common'hood, Escape Academy, Exoprimal, Figment, Insurgency Sandstorm, and Those Who Remain.
This is just the first half of January's updates. Microsoft will undoubtedly announce further additions for the latter half of the month and beyond. Keep an eye out for future announcements!
