Begin your journey by finding Botim, situated south of the Rinascita-Ragunna-Thessaleo Fells northern Resonance Beacon. He'll explain the situation: shadowy monsters plague three ancestral towers, and he offers rewards for their cleansing. This initiates the Shadow of the Past quest.
Thorncrown Rises Tower Locations
Three towers comprise this quest, each representing a sub-quest:
- Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise: Located northeast of Thorncrown Rises.
- Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise: Situated south of Thorncrown Rises.
- Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise: Found southwest of Thorncrown Rises.
Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise
This northeastern tower requires interaction with Itzel, stationed east of the structure. The following steps are crucial:
- Enter the tower via the painting at the hallway's end.
- Follow quest markers to engage and defeat Abyssal Mercators.
- Collect supply chests in the northern, western, and eastern rooms.
- Navigate through additional paintings, defeating more enemies and collecting chests.
- Solve the painting puzzle:
- Move the top-left painting to the bottom-right.
- Move the painting behind the top-left display to the bottom-left.
- Move the top-right painting to the top-left.
- Move the painting behind the bottom-right display to the top-right.
- Claim the Premium Supply chest.
- Defeat a final Abyssal Mercator.
- Speak to Itzel and collect the Tidal Supply chest. This weakens one Command Rise Tower barrier.
Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise
Proceed southeast to the Twilight Rise Tower and speak with Insula to begin. Inside, you'll encounter a time loop:
- Investigate the three marked spots.
- Speak with Insula.
- Enter the secret passage beneath the elevator.
- Defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
- Collect the supply chest and follow the Patricius.
- Defeat the Patricius again.
- Speak with Insula.
- Collect the Tidal Supply chest.
This completes the Twilight Rise sub-quest and weakens the second Command Rise Tower barrier.
Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise
Completing the previous two sub-quests automatically triggers this final stage.
- Speak with Insula and Itzel at the camp northeast of the Command Rise Tower.
- Use the Wingray to reach the tower.
- Enter the tower and follow quest markers.
- Collect supply chests along the way, utilizing the grapple to ascend.
- Defeat Abyssal Patricius.
- Collect the chest and continue climbing, utilizing the chandelier mechanism to reach the top.
- Discover Liel's demise, speak with Insula and Itzel, and use the portal to confront the final Abyssal Patricius.
- Claim the Call of the Abyss Rectifier and a Premium Supply chest.
Exiting via the portal and speaking with Insula and Itzel awards the King of Thessaleo and Shadow of the Tower achievements.
