Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or use the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer Board Game

The Lifer is positioned beside a board game with six pieces. Players control black, the Lifer white. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls in that direction. The game isn't mandatory for combat but is crucial for buff removal. Winning before debuffing is ill-advised.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, three are permanent. The buffs are visible on a yellow module behind the Lifer.

Removable Buffs (using Stake of Imbalance):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2s of inactivity.
  • Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and escalating DMG over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase on DMG dealt.
  • Decay of Time: Significant elemental resistance and increased Max HP.

Permanent Buffs:

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant DMG.

Obtaining the Stakes of Imbalance

Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the corresponding gates. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). Challenges include defeating Tacet Discords or breaking Friable Rocks in some rooms.

Place each Stake of Imbalance in the module before its corresponding statue to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful debuffing.

Defeating the Lifer

After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. The battle becomes significantly easier. Victory rewards vary based on the number of times you defeat the Lifer (Premium and other Supply Chests). You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, though there are no achievements tied to this.

Lifer Achievements

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all chests.
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves. Its impatience will lead to mistakes you can exploit.
