Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another exciting title today that reinvents the musou genre. Introducing Warriors: Abyss, a thrilling new roguelite that brings together the iconic characters from the Warriors series for an epic adventure. Revealed during today's PlayStation State of Play, this game allows you to assemble a squad and battle through endless waves of enemies with an isometric camera view, drawing inspiration from both Diablo and the Greek mythology-themed roguelite, Hades.
In Warriors: Abyss, you'll lead your team through the depths of "hell," facing off against demonic foes. The game features beloved characters from across the Warriors franchise, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang. According to the PlayStation Blog, you can recruit and add these characters to your team over time, enhancing your ability to summon additional heroes in battle. At launch, players can utilize up to seven active heroes from a pool of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the roster with new characters, starting with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer has hinted at even more exciting waves of characters, including potential additions from outside the Warriors series, to be introduced in future updates.
Warriors: Abyss is available today on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also be coming to Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. For those interested in exclusive in-game content, be sure to pick up the Dynasty Warriors Costume Set before March 14, 2025.
