This guide details the four artifact detectors in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, explaining their functionality and acquisition methods. Artifacts significantly enhance Skif's stats, making detectors crucial for locating them within anomalous zones.
Artifact Detectors in Stalker 2
- Echo Detector – The Basic Detector:
Given early in the game, the Echo Detector is a simple, yellow device with a central light tube. Its strobe and beeping intensify as you approach an artifact, but pinpointing its exact location can be time-consuming.
- Bear Detector – An Enhanced Echo:
Obtained during the "A Sign of Hope" side mission or from vendors, the Bear Detector improves upon the Echo. It uses concentric rings around its display; the more rings illuminated, the closer you are to the artifact. Full illumination indicates the artifact's spawn point.
- Hilka Detector – Precision Locating:
Acquired during the "Mysterious Case" side mission from Sultan, the Hilka Detector provides numerical readings correlating to an artifact's position. Decreasing numbers signify proximity to the artifact.
- Veles Detector – The Ultimate Detector:
The Veles Detector, earned by completing the "In Search of Past Glory" main mission, is the most advanced. Its radar display pinpoints artifacts within anomalous fields and also highlights nearby hazardous anomalies. This provides both artifact location and hazard awareness.
