Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving you under-equipped. Fortunately, you can acquire the Dogwood Village Bow early and without spending a single groat. This guide outlines how to obtain this valuable weapon.
After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location on your map conveniently leads you to the bow.
The blacksmith's workshop is located in Tachov, north of Troskowitz. Travel west from Troskowitz, following the path northward. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. A small training area, easily overlooked, is nestled within these trees.
You'll find a target with arrows; collect these for free ammunition. To the right of the target, leaning against a tree trunk, rests the Dogwood Village Bow. Nearby, you'll also discover brew and mushrooms. Once you've gathered your supplies, continue with your quest.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, buying the Dogwood Village Bow isn't recommended. It's a relatively weak ranged weapon, and the free alternative is far more efficient. Vitek does, however, sell superior weapons, and you can supplement your income through alchemy.
Regardless of your weapon acquisition method, having a ranged option significantly improves combat, particularly beneficial given the game's fixed difficulty settings. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's melee combat may not appeal to all players, making ranged weapons a valuable asset.
After acquiring the bow, continue your blacksmith job (saving after forging a sword), or proceed to the miller to advance the main quest. With a ranged weapon at your disposal, navigating Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's challenges becomes considerably easier.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
