Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Footage Leaks After Game’s Cancellation

Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Splash Damage, the developer, announced the co-op game in 2022, promising a multiplayer experience featuring Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an alien threat. However, the project was ultimately canceled, with the developer shifting focus to other ventures.

The recently resurfaced footage, from a 2020 build, showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, seamlessly transforming between robot and vehicle modes, and engaging in combat against "the Legion," the game's intended antagonists. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Despite some unfinished textures, the footage demonstrates a polished aesthetic, including environmental destruction. A silent cutscene depicts Bumblebee emerging from a portal in New York City, communicating with an ally named Devin.

Numerous other leaks dating back to 2020 exist, offering further glimpses into the game's development. While Transformers: Reactivate will never be released, the leaked footage provides a look at the ambitious, albeit ultimately unsuccessful, project.
