SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes

Author : Emily Jan 24,2025

Farewell, Switch Arcade Enthusiasts! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, I'm moving on to new adventures. But before I go, let's dive into one last packed edition!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Following the Fitness Boxing series' success (including the surprisingly enjoyable Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star), this collaboration with Hatsune Miku was a smart move. I've been testing it alongside Ring Fit Adventure, and I'm impressed. It uses boxing and rhythm-game mechanics for workouts, mini-games, and more. Miku gets her own dedicated song mode. Note: Joy-Con only; no Pro Controller support.

The game includes difficulty options, free training, warm-ups, workout tracking, and reminders (even when the Switch is sleeping). Unlockable cosmetics add incentive. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring and I found myself muting it.

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU is a solid fitness game, especially appealing to Miku fans. However, it's best used to supplement, rather than replace, other exercise routines. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While the exploration is well-executed, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The backtracking occasionally frustrated.

The game boasts beautiful pixel art, charming music, and excellent customization options (including UI scaling and text options). Some frame pacing issues were noted. The Switch version is well-suited for handheld play.

Despite its strengths, Magical Delicacy feels slightly unfinished. A few quality-of-life updates would elevate it to an essential title. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A surprisingly polished sequel to the original Aero The Acro-Bat. This release features an improved presentation compared to Ratalaika's usual emulation wrappers, including extras like box and manual scans, achievements, and a sprite gallery. Only the Super NES version is included (no Genesis/Mega Drive version).

A solid platformer, especially for fans of the original. The enhanced emulation wrapper is a welcome addition. -Shaun

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

More of an expansion than a sequel to the original Metro Quester, this prequel takes you to Osaka. It introduces a new dungeon, character types, and challenges, building upon the original's turn-based combat and top-down exploration. Careful planning is key!

Fans of the first game will find plenty to love here. New players might even prefer starting with this one. -Shaun

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
