The latest Stellar Blade update introduces several new features to the PS5 exclusive title, including notable "visual improvements" to protagonist Eve's character model, courtesy of developer Shift Up.
Stellar Blade's Enhanced Physics
More Than Just "Visual Improvements"
(c) Stellar Blade on Twitter (X) Shift Up's recent patch includes the permanent addition of the previously limited-time Summer Event Update, offering players a toggleable option. Further enhancements encompass quality-of-life improvements, new map markers, and a convenient "Ammo Package" item for instant ammo replenishment. However, the most discussed alteration centers on the updated physics engine and its impact on Eve's appearance.
As the developers themselves highlighted, the update noticeably increases the animation of Eve's bust. A comparison of "before" and "after" GIFs clearly demonstrates the enhanced jiggle physics.
Shift Up has consistently embraced a less-than-subtle approach to Eve's design, even including a skinsuit costume that reduces the visual impact. This update, however, pushes the visual presentation further, extending beyond Eve's character model. Social media reactions indicate that the updated physics also affect equipment movement in windy conditions, with one fan describing the effect as "real-time CG."
While the increased jiggle physics are most prominent on Eve's chest, as shown in the provided GIFs, a truly realistic physics simulation would likely also affect other elements of her appearance, such as her hair.
A more comprehensive physics implementation might include realistic hair movement to complement the other changes.
