Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion

Stellar Blade is decking the halls (and Xion!) for the holidays with a new event launching December 17th. This update brings festive cheer, new outfits, and a fun mini-game. Let's dive into the details.

Festive Stellar Blade Update

Holiday Cheer: New Outfits and Decorations

Get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a mini-game! Eve, Adam, and even the Drone get festive makeovers:

  • Santa Dress (Eve)
  • Rudolph Pack (Drone)
  • I’m No Santa (Adam)

Complete Eve's look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

Xion itself receives a holiday makeover, transforming into a cozy winter wonderland with warm lights and festive decorations. Eve's camp and The Last Gulp also get the festive treatment, complete with new seasonal background music ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away") to enhance the relaxed atmosphere.

A Festive Mini-Game Awaits

The update introduces a new mini-game in Xion. While details are scarce, it involves targeting a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.

Control Your Festive Fun

A new setting allows players to easily enable or disable seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Find this option in the game's Gameplay settings under "Seasonal Event Content" with three options:

  • Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.

Mixed Reactions from Fans

While many fans celebrated the update, some expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content was also a point of contention.
