Can You Get the Staff of Ice from the Mystery Box on The Tomb?
While the Staff of Ice, like its Black Ops II counterpart, requires three parts, you can, through sheer luck, find it in The Tomb's Mystery Box. The odds are significantly improved with the "Wunderbar!" GobbleGum, but it's not guaranteed, as the Ray Gun also competes for the slot. For a guaranteed acquisition, building the Staff is recommended.

Obtaining the Staff of Ice Monocle
The Monocle is the easiest piece to obtain. It drops from the first Shock Mimic you eliminate in a match. Simply interact with it to add it to your inventory.
Obtaining the Staff of Ice Head Piece
The Head Piece and Staff pieces require similar puzzle solutions and survival of a lockdown. These can be acquired in any order.
Locate the wall with the cave painting in the Neolithic Catacombs. If the wall isn't illuminated, activate Dark Aether lanterns in the area until one is near the painting. Shoot the Roman numerals on the wall in ascending order (I-X). Incorrect shots don't reset progress; resume from the last correct one. Use a bullet weapon to avoid accidental misfires from splash or explosive damage. Completing this triggers a lockdown; survive it to claim the Head Piece. If lanterns aren't present, visit the Dark Aether Nexus and return; if still absent, progress a few rounds.
Obtaining the Staff of Ice Staff Piece
Find the Bull Mural in the Tombs room (bull's head facing left). Manipulate Dark Aether lanterns to illuminate the Roman numerals on the wall. Shoot them in ascending order (I-VIII). Survive the ensuing lockdown to obtain the Staff piece.
Assembling the Staff of Ice
Once you possess all three parts, head to the Dark Aether Nexus (access via the Door to Nowhere). Place the parts on the central structure. Defend the Staff from the ensuing zombie onslaught during assembly. Use perks, upgraded weapons, and GobbleGums like Kill Joy and Free Fire for optimal defense.
Congratulations! You now possess the Staff of Ice.
