Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced
The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may or may not come as a surprise, the Japanese version will continue to operate.
Two Months Remain
With the December shutdown looming, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched in June 2020, the global server's four-year run is concluding. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics, the game received a mixed reception. Unlike its highly popular Japanese counterpart, the global version failed to resonate with a wider audience. The absence of significant content updates, such as the Solistia expansion and 6-star units (available in Japan for nearly a year), contributed to player attrition.
Community Feedback
Square Enix, the developer, has already closed several other titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games.
Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG rooted in the classic SaGa franchise, offers players two remaining months to enjoy its gameplay. Those unfamiliar with the game can download it from the Google Play Store.
