Silent Hill f Gets Banned in Australia
Silent Hill f has been banned in Australia following a "Refused Classification" rating from the Australian Classification Board. This decision means that the game cannot be released, sold, or imported into the country. The board's decision was shared in a now-private publication post, which provided scant details on the reasons behind the rating. According to the Australian Classification Board's website, materials that receive a "Refused Classification (RC)" rating contain content that falls outside of community standards and exceeds the boundaries set by the R 18+ and X 18+ ratings.
Contrastingly, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) in the United States assigned Silent Hill f a "Mature 17+" rating, citing the presence of blood and gore, intense violence, and partial nudity. The ESRB's detailed rating summary highlights the game's frequent blood splatters, enemy attacks that impale the player, cutscenes showcasing gore, and more intense acts of violence. Additionally, the inclusion of concept art depicting a nude mannequin contributed to the game's M 17+ rating.
The recent Silent Hill Transmission on March 13 offered fans a glimpse into what to expect from Silent Hill f, suggesting that the franchise might be heading towards one of its most graphic and intense entries yet.
