Sonic Rumble is gearing up for its global launch, but fans in over 40 countries where the game is in soft launch can already experience a thrilling crossover event. Dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars, this event is live now and will continue until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide release on May 8th. Sonic Rumble initially entered pre-launch phase 1 in Summer 2024 in regions including the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by pre-launch phase 2 in Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.
What’s in Store?
If you're lucky enough to be in one of the soft-launch regions, you can dive into the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The Altered Beast crew makes a comeback, with the Werewolf transformation available for free. Nostalgic about beast modes? You can also get the Werebear and Weredragon, though they come with different price tags. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear might be purchasable with regular rings.
Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will be thrilled to see Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, and Upa-Upa can be acquired through fragments, each costing 700 standard rings. Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have rolled into the event. If you're keen on getting AiAi, be prepared to spend 729 Red Star Rings. Get a closer look at the crossover event in the video below.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During matches, you can collect SEGA logos to earn extra goodies. While it may seem odd that this event is live before the global release, SEGA has reassured players that most of these pre-release rewards will return later. This inaugural crossover event showcases a rich blend of SEGA’s past and present, featuring monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and powerful were-creatures mingling with Sonic and friends, making Sonic Rumble a promising venture.
You can download the game from the Google Play Store if you're in a soft-launch region, or wait for its global release on May 8th. In the meantime, don't forget to check out our coverage of Vampire Survivors’ SaGa-Based DLC Emerald Diorama along with the Cross-Save Update.
