Faithfully following the events of the original 2013 PS3 game and its Left Behind expansion, the first season masterfully expands upon the narrative with additional world-building elements. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (a key figure in the game's development) penned the scripts.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey portray Joel and Ellie, respectively, alongside Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson (their video game counterparts) in supporting roles. The series faithfully recreates the core storyline: Joel's cross-country journey with Ellie through a post-apocalyptic America ravaged by a fungal pandemic, where Ellie holds the key to humanity's survival.
