RuneScape’s RuneFest 2025, the first since 2019, was a massive celebration for fans and developers alike! The event showcased a wave of exciting new content across both Old School RuneScape and the mainline RuneScape game.
Old School RuneScape players were treated to a triple-threat of updates: Sailing, a brand-new skill introducing nautical vessels and adventures; a challenging new endgame boss, Yama; and an HD upgrade enhancing visuals without sacrificing the game's classic low-poly aesthetic. Beyond these major additions, RuneFest also unveiled Project Zanaris, a new modding platform with playtest sign-ups now open.
Meanwhile, the mainline RuneScape game received its own significant additions. RuneScape Leagues are now available, offering a fresh competitive experience. And the new region, Havenhythe, introduces a thrilling vampire-themed storyline with new bosses, locations, skilling activities, and quests, promising ample content well into 2026.
With its consistently impressive updates, RuneScape continues to set a high bar for mobile MMORPGs. However, if you're looking for more mobile MMO options, check out our list of the top 7 smartphone games similar to World of Warcraft.
