A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on their LinkedIn profile that an unannounced project has been cancelled after several years in development. No official reason for the cancellation has been given.
Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported the project wasn't a mainline Titanfall entry, ruling out Titanfall 3. Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists for its development.
This follows the cancellation of another Respawn project last year, an arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends.
The Titanfall series is celebrated for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as agile pilots or powerful Titans. Since its 2014 debut, the franchise has garnered a strong following for its innovative gameplay, combining parkour mechanics with dynamic team-based battles.
Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the third installment in the Jedi series, and a new, unannounced strategy game set in the Star Wars universe, developed in partnership with Bit Reactor.
