Monster Hunter and Digimon Collaborate for 20th AnniversaryDigimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition Pre-Orders Open, Global Release Unannounced
In celebration of Monster Hunter's 20th anniversary, Capcom's acclaimed action-RPG series announced a partnership with Digimon to release the “Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition” version of the handheld V-Pets device. The 20th edition features designs based on the Monster Hunter series' Rathalos and Zinogre, each priced at 7,700 Yen (approximately 53.2 USD) excluding additional fees.
Both Monster Hunter 20th Digimon COLOR devices include a color LCD screen, UV printing, and integrated rechargeable batteries. Similar to previous versions, it boasts a color LCD screen, a built-in rechargeable battery, and customizable backgrounds. The game incorporates a "Cold Mode" mechanic that temporarily halts monster growth, hunger, and strength. Furthermore, it offers a backup system to save monsters and game progress.
Pre-orders for the Digital Monster COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition are now available on Bandai's official Japanese online store. Please note these are Japanese releases, and international shipping may incur extra charges.
Currently, there are no global release announcements for Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition. At the time of writing, the devices appear to be sold out hours after the announcement. The initial pre-orders for the 20th Edition will conclude today at 11:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET). Information on subsequent pre-orders will be posted on the Digimon Web Twitter (X) account. Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition is slated for release in April 2025.
