Japanese YouTuber's Massive Pokémon TCG Pocket Collection
A $8,500+ Investment (Excluding Sales)
Hajimesyacho, a prominent Japanese YouTuber known for diverse content, revealed his impressive collection of 50,000 Pokémon TCG Pocket cards on Twitter (X). This was achieved by purchasing the daily maximum of 720 Poké Gold since the game's October 30, 2024 launch. This daily expenditure, estimated at around $100, totals approximately $8,500 over the 85-day period, excluding any potential savings from in-game sales events.
His dedication secured cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, along with limited-edition promotional cards. The recent addition of a "Pokedex" Trainer card, awarded for global card collection milestones (40 billion cards), further enhances his collection.
McDonald's Happy Meal Collaboration: Physical & In-Game Rewards
The Pokémon Company recently announced an exciting collaboration with McDonald's. Pokémon-themed Happy Meals offer collectible physical cards featuring popular Pokémon like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, Rayquaza, and more (including 7 holo/foil cards). TCG Pocket players can also redeem in-game rewards: 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses for opening booster packs and using Wonder Pick.
Four unique Happy Meal box designs showcase Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, Dragonite, and Pikachu. These limited-time offers are available at participating McDonald's restaurants until supplies last, with in-game rewards expiring March 31, 2025.
Trading Feature & New Booster Pack on the Horizon
Pokémon TCG Pocket announced details of its upcoming trading feature. Trades are limited to friends, requiring cards of the same rarity (1-4 diamonds and 1-star). Rarer cards (Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, Crown Rares) are excluded. A consumable item will facilitate trades, similar to Stardust in Pokémon GO.
Initially, trading will include cards from Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island packs, with the developers promising expanded card selection based on player feedback. A new booster pack is also teased for January release.
