Niantic has exciting news for Pokémon Go trainers in Chile and India with the launch of the Wayfarer Challenge, an event designed to enhance the game's world while rewarding participants with exclusive items. From March 7th to 9th in Chile, and March 10th to 12th in India, trainers have a unique opportunity to influence their local game environment by reviewing and approving Wayspot nominations through the Niantic Wayfarer platform. This process not only contributes to the introduction of new PokéStops and Gyms but also helps you achieve special milestone rewards.
During the Wayfarer Challenge, you can nominate real-world locations like landmarks, sculptures, and street art to be transformed into PokéStops and Gyms. By resolving 5,000 nominations, the community unlocks rewards including 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin for all participants. Push the community efforts further to reach 10,000 approvals, and the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.
To participate, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and possess a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations. Additionally, you should have recently played in Chile or India or set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To be eligible for the rewards, ensure you review at least 50 nominations and that the community meets at least one milestone.
Running concurrently from March 9th to 12th, the PokéStop Challenge will also be held exclusively in Chile and India. This event offers 3x XP for first-time visits to new PokéStops, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and an increase in Kecleon spawns. Engage with Event Field Research for a chance to encounter Eevee, and complete Timed Research tasks to catch other Pokémon.
