Pokemon GO has announced a new event called Inbound from Ultra Space. The five-day promo will see many Ultra Beasts return to Pokemon GO in mid-July 2024.
In Pokemon lore, Ultra Beasts are described as mons from another dimension that can hop between realities using Ultra Wormholes. They were initially introduced in the Generation 7 games, with most of them debuting in Pokemon Sun and Moon, although Ultra Sunand Ultra Moon added a few more of these extradimensional creatures. The first Ultra Beast to make its way to Pokemon GO was Nihilego, which debuted in June 2022 as part of the annual Pokemon GO Fest. Since then, Niantic has released many other specimens of these mysterious mons, allowing trainers a chance to catch them during limited-time periods.
Ultra Beasts Returning to Pokemon GO, Some as Regional Exclusives
Another such opportunity has now been announced in the form of Inbound from Ultra Space. The newly confirmed event is scheduled to run from July 8 at 10am to July 13 at 10am, local time. Nine Pokemon GO Ultra Beasts will return to the game during this period, being set to star in a variety of five-star Raids. However, the only way to obtain all of them will be to travel the world, as over half of the featured Ultra Beasts will be regional exclusives.
Specifically, Asia-Pacific players will be able to battle Xurkitree, while trainers in the EMEA region and India will have access to the Pheromosa raid. Meanwhile, Buzzwole will only be available in the Americas and Greenland, while Stakataka and Blacephalon will be exclusive to the eastern and western hemisphere, respectively. Similarly, Celesteela raids will only appear in the southern hemisphere, while trainers on the opposite side of the world will be able to take on Kartana.
The new Pokemon GO event will also introduce themed Timed Research quests, which will award all of the aforementioned mons. But Stakataka and Blacephalon are the only Ultra Beasts obtainable through these missions that will feature special Pokedex backgrounds. On that note, the event will introduce some new backgrounds, which players will have a chance to receive from Raid battles and after catching certain mons in the wild.
The geographical limitations of the newly announced raid schedule match the regional exclusivity provisions that applied to some of the recently introduced Pokemon GO Ultra Beasts. The event itself will also feature some limited-time bonuses, like an increased daily Remote Raid Pass limit of 20 and guaranteed Candy XL rewards for trading Pokemon.
