Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghostly Reconnaissance

In Phasmophobia, conquering the most elusive specters often requires utilizing risky yet rewarding Cursed Possessions. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful, relatively safe option. This guide details its functionality.

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror offers a significant advantage with minimal risk, providing a panoramic view of the ghost's current favored room. This significantly speeds up location, enabling strategic equipment placement before things get dangerous. Its functionality remains consistent across game updates.

Its location is predetermined for each map; it's the type of Cursed Object that's randomized. You'll usually find it hanging on a wall (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or on the floor.

To use it, pick it up and interact (using your designated button). The reflection reveals the ghost's haunt. However, on Professional difficulty and above, remember the ghost's location can shift over time.

Caution: Prolonged viewing drains sanity. Holding it for the entire duration shatters the mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your location. Use it wisely when sanity is high and you understand the reflection's implications.

Cursed Possessions (or "Cursed Objects") are randomly spawning items offering gameplay shortcuts at a cost. Unlike standard equipment, which provides evidence with minimal risk, these objects manipulate the ghost, but at a higher risk to your character's sanity and survival.

Risk varies between objects. Their use is entirely optional; there's no penalty for ignoring them. Only one spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
