Loot filters in Path of Exile 2 are invaluable tools that streamline your gaming experience. As items begin to drop in large quantities, these filters help by reducing screen clutter and emphasizing the most crucial items on the ground, making looting smoother and more efficient.
Navigating item sorting and picking on consoles or with a controller can be cumbersome. Fortunately, players on PlayStation and Xbox can utilize loot filters just like their PC counterparts. However, setting up filters on consoles might be a bit tricky, so here's a straightforward guide to help you get started.
How to Link Path of Exile 2 and Console Accounts
To leverage loot filters on the console versions of Path of Exile 2, you must link your console accounts to your Path of Exile account. This process is facilitated through the Path of Exile 1 website. Follow these steps to link your accounts:
- Log in to the Path of Exile website.
- Click on your account name in the upper-left corner of the webpage.
- Select "Manage Account" located on the right, beneath your profile name and avatar.
- Under "Secondary Login," click the Connect button for either Sony (PS) or Microsoft (Xbox).
Upon selecting the Connect button for your console, you will be prompted to log in with your existing PlayStation or Xbox account. Complete the steps as they appear, and your accounts will be successfully linked.
Finding and Using Loot Filters
With your accounts linked, return to your profile page on the website and click on the "Item Filters" button on the right side. Then, select the "Item Filter Ladder" hyperlink, which will open a new tab displaying the top loot filters for Path of Exile 2.
From the list, use the drop-down box above to switch to "PoE 2." Choose the filter you wish to use and click the "Follow" button on its page. For newcomers to Path of Exile 2, we suggest opting for NeverSink's semi-strict or regular filters for a more general and streamlined experience.
Once you've followed a loot filter on the official website, launch your game and navigate to the Options menu. In the Game tab, you'll find the "Item Filter" option at the top. Your selected filter should appear in the drop-down menu. Choose it, then click Save. From this point forward, the items that drop in the game will be labeled, colored, or accompanied by sound effects according to the filter you've activated.
