Pocketpair's Palworld, renowned for its expansive open-world exploration, continues to captivate players since its January 2024 launch. The Feybreak DLC significantly enhanced the game, introducing numerous crafting materials, including the valuable Dark Fragments. These are crucial for crafting high-tier accessories, making their acquisition a priority for Feybreak explorers.
How to Obtain Dark Fragments in Palworld
To gather Dark Fragments, hunt Dark-elemental Pals exclusively found on Feybreak Island. This method is ineffective for Dark-elemental Pals in other game regions. Feybreak's coastal areas primarily feature ground and water-type Pals; venture inland to locate Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some, like Starryon, are nocturnal unless encountered as boss variants.
Defeating or capturing these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments, though drops aren't guaranteed. Efficiently tracking down Dark Pals maximizes your fragment yield.
The following Dark-elemental Pals drop Dark Fragments. Be aware of boss and predator variations found in open areas or dungeons:
While unreliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on Feybreak. Thorough exploration is encouraged, though remember that frequent combat depletes ammo, potentially hindering other challenges like defeating Bjorn, the island's formidable Tower Boss.
Utilizing Dark Fragments in Palworld
Dark Fragments, while valuable, aren't used in a vast array of recipes. They primarily craft specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots (dash and jump) for your character.
Dark Fragments are used in crafting the following items. Unlocking schematics requires Technology Points (or Ancient Technology Points) via your Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu). Appropriate machines are also needed for material processing and item creation.
