Oscar Nominations 2025 Announced: Emilia Pérez, Wicked, and The Brutalist Among Top Nominees

The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez is making history! With a record-breaking 13 nominations, it's the most ever for a non-English language film. Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees on January 23rd during a live presentation on the Oscars YouTube channel. Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, is a major contender, vying for Best Picture, Best Director (Audiard himself), and Best Lead Actress, with Karla Sofía Gascón receiving the nomination.

Wicked and The Brutalist follow closely behind with 10 nominations each, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown earned eight apiece.
