Olden Era Introduces Open Arena Mode Testing

Unfrozen has unveiled an exciting new gameplay trailer for Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, highlighting essential elements of the strategy game. The trailer showcases a range of mechanics, units, and overall gameplay, providing fans with a deeper look into what they can expect. Alongside the trailer, the studio has announced that registration for the closed beta test of the "Arena" mode is now open. Interested players can sign up for access through the game’s Steam page. The testing phase is set to run from March 17 to March 28, offering a chance for early feedback and fine-tuning.

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is slated to enter early access on Steam in the second quarter of 2025. At launch, players will have access to six distinct factions, three engaging single-player modes, and three dynamic multiplayer modes. Ubisoft is stepping up to handle the publishing responsibilities for this eagerly awaited title, ensuring a polished release.

In a recent update, the developers introduced the Dungeon faction, which includes an array of fascinating units such as troglodytes, dark elves, minotaurs, medusas, hydras, and dragons. These units add unique strategic elements to the game, promising to enrich the overall gameplay experience.

The team at Unfrozen openly discussed the challenges they encountered while developing the Arena mode. Balancing skills and heroes proved to be particularly tricky due to the mode's limited space and the absence of initial advantages. However, the developers managed to overcome these hurdles, ensuring that the Arena mode will offer a smooth and engaging experience for players.

While Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is expected to hit PC later this year, an exact release date has yet to be confirmed. The game is being crafted to cater to both long-time fans of the series and newcomers, promising a rich and accessible strategic experience.
