NieR: Automata Fishing Guide: A Relaxing Way to Earn Big
NieR: Automata offers more than just intense android-machine warfare. For a more peaceful pastime, try fishing! This optional activity can be a surprisingly lucrative way to acquire rare items and quickly earn in-game currency without the resource drain of combat. This guide details how to fish and what rewards await.
How to Fish in NieR: Automata
Fishing is simple and can be done in almost any body of water, even shallow areas. Just stand still in the water; a fishing prompt will appear above your character. Hold the designated button to cast your Pod:
- PlayStation: O button
- Xbox: B button
- PC: Enter key
Once cast, wait for your Pod to be fully submerged with a distinct "plop" sound. Quickly press the same button to reel in your catch. You have a limited window to react; otherwise, the fish escapes. You can cast repeatedly without restriction. A helpful plug-in chip displays a fishing icon in the top right corner when fishing is possible.
Rewards for Fishing in NieR: Automata
Most fish and junk items obtained through fishing are valuable and sell for a good price, providing a safe and efficient method for early-game wealth accumulation, especially for upgrading plug-in chip capacity. Fishing in sewers even offers a chance to acquire the Iron Pipe, a potentially powerful weapon. So grab your rod (virtually, of course) and start reeling in those rewards!
