In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, your canine companion, Mutt, goes missing early on. Finding him is a key part of the game, and thankfully, it's not as difficult as it might seem. This guide shows you exactly how to locate him.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Mutt Location
While there's a side quest involved in finding Mutt, here's a shortcut. Mutt is located near a wolf cave southwest of the Nomads’ Camp, just east of the river bathing spot. The image below shows his exact location.
The easiest route is fast traveling to the Nomads’ Camp, then heading southwest into the forest. This path will likely lead you directly to the cave. You'll hear Mutt whining as you approach. Follow the sound, and you'll find him with a few wolves near the cave entrance.
Approaching triggers a cutscene introducing Mutt and the wolves, and a tutorial on giving him commands in battle. You can choose to fight or flee. Fighting the wolves is a good way to gain experience, and they aren't overly challenging.
After the encounter, Mutt will be under your control. Hold L1 (while facing him) to interact, feed him from your inventory, or send him home.
Finding Mutt During the "Invaders" Side Quest
Interestingly, you might stumble upon the wolf cave while completing the "Invaders" side quest, particularly if you interact with the Cumans. After drinking with them, following Vasko uphill to get more liquor will lead you directly to the cave. This triggers the cutscene, but attempting this while drunk and in the dark is significantly harder.
It's strongly recommended to rescue Mutt *before* continuing the "Invaders" quest. Dealing with wolves while drunk and potentially disoriented is much more difficult. Even fleeing could lead to accidental death from falls.
That's how to find Mutt in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Check out The Escapist for more game tips and information.
