Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have announced their titles' return for the 2025 edition. Hot on the heels of Free Fire's confirmation, Moonton has officially announced the return of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

The 2024 tournament featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These events brought together teams from around the globe to compete in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak since 2021) to claim the Women's Invitational title.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear to be returning. However, a notable observation is the lack of truly major championship events featured. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the main stage.

This is a double-edged sword. It's positive in that the EWC avoids overshadowing established leagues, but it could also be perceived as a secondary competition.

Nevertheless, fans of the participating games will undoubtedly welcome the return of so many familiar titles to this prestigious tournament.
