Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs
Ahead of the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie, Lego has released details of two new sets offering glimpses into the film's action-packed scenes and showcasing key characters. As reported by Games Radar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and the Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, and include minifigures of Steve (Jack Black) and The Garbage Man (Jason Momoa).
The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) depicts a gladiatorial-style battle. Momoa's character faces off against a zombie riding a giant chicken – the scale of which remains unclear, but it's significantly taller than The Garbage Man. The set also includes Steve, his companion Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weaponry.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) features the Nether's Ghast in a large-scale battle scene within a standard overworld village. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's theatrical release on April 4th. The film, revealed last September, initially faced criticism for the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world. However, the director and producer, in a November interview with IGN, expressed confidence in their vision and preparedness for audience reactions.
