Demon Mode/Demon Gauge and Archdemon Mode

The Dual Blades feature a unique Demon Gauge that activates Demon Mode, boosting your attack, movement speed, and evasion while providing knockback immunity. However, it continuously drains stamina, ending when stamina depletes or you cancel it manually. Landing attacks in Demon Mode fills the Demon Gauge, leading to Archdemon Mode at full capacity. In Archdemon Mode, the gauge depletes over time and with specific attacks, enabling enhanced strikes. Both modes can be toggled during combat, and the gauge stops decreasing when you mount a monster, allowing strategic planning.

Demon Dodge

After a successful Perfect Evade, enter Demon Dodge for increased regular and elemental damage, and the ability to attack while dodging. This grants a 12-second damage buff, with subsequent dodges causing damage as you spin forward.

Combos

Dual Blades combos revolve around Demon and Archdemon Modes, allowing you to chain attacks for maximum damage.

Basic Combo

Chain three Triangle/Y attacks for a reliable combo: Double Slash, Double Slash Return Stroke, and Circle Slash. Alternatively, use Circle/B for Demon Flurry Rush – Spinning Slash – Double Roundslash to quickly fill the Demon Gauge.

Demon Mode Basic Combo

In Demon Mode, enhance your basic combo with Demon Fangs, Twofold Demon Slash, and Sixfold Demon Slash, finishing with Triangle/Y + Circle/B for Demon Flurry I.

Archdemon Mode Blade Dance Combo

After filling the Demon Gauge, enter Archdemon Mode for a powerful sequence: start with Blade Dance (Triangle/Y + Circle/B), follow with four R2/RT presses for Demon Flurry I into Blade Dance II, and conclude with Demon Flurry II and Blade Dance III for swift, concentrated damage.

Dual Blade Tips

Mastering the Dual Blades involves seamless transitions between modes to maximize damage output.

Always Follow Up

Start with the basic Demon Flurry Rush combo (Circle/B + Circle/B + Circle/B), then transition into a full Demon or Archdemon Mode combo (three sets of Triangle/Y + Circle/B). This fills and immediately utilizes the Demon Gauge for rapid damage.

Keep Your Stamina Up

Since Demon Mode relies on stamina, maintain reserves to stay in the fight. Exit the mode to recover or use Focus Strike on wounds to halt stamina drain while filling the Demon Gauge, preparing for aggressive attacks upon landing.

Dodging in Between Attacks

Without reliable defense, dodging is your lifeline. The Dual Blades' mobility lets you dodge out of most attacks and combos. Avoid overcommitting and watch for attack windows due to the weapons' quick animations.

Ensure Sharpness

Continuous attacks can quickly dull your Dual Blades. Utilize the Speed Sharpening skill to swiftly restore sharpness and return to the fray.
