Marvel Rivals to Expand Roster with Six Heroes

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh with regular updates. The development team plans to release updates approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures a constant stream of new content to engage players.

Game director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview that each season's update is divided into two parts: one new hero in the first half, and another in the second. This approach maintains player interest and excitement. Beyond new heroes, updates will also include new maps, storylines, and objectives. Previously announced characters include Blade (currently unavailable) and Ultron (revealed through leaks), with the Fantastic Four's full team also recently confirmed.

According to GameLook, a Chinese publication, Marvel Rivals generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion originating from the Chinese market. This marks a substantial entry into the gaming world for Marvel, a powerhouse in the film industry.

Marvel Rivals successfully filled a void in the hero-shooter genre, following the less-than-stellar reception of Square Enix's Avengers game. NetEase delivered a high-quality heroic shooter boasting an impressive roster of characters, receiving positive reviews upon its release.
