Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a smash hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has previously ruled out a Nintendo Switch release due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?
Recent conversations with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas offer a glimmer of hope for Switch fans. Wu stated, "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. If we can ensure great performance on the Switch 2, we're definitely open to a release. The original Switch couldn't deliver the gameplay experience we aimed for. If the Switch 2 achieves that, we're in."
The Nintendo Switch 2, officially unveiled last month, promises enhanced power and capabilities over its predecessor. Rumors suggest a mouse-like control scheme, potentially bridging the gap between console and PC shooter experiences, though specifics remain unclear.
While the Switch 2 lacks a firm release date (a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd), Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms.
