Marvel Is Exploring Ways to Reunite The Defenders

Author : Christian Feb 28,2025

Daredevil's highly anticipated next season is on the horizon, and the creative team is already brainstorming future possibilities, including a potential Defenders reunion.

In a recent EW profile, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming and TV, expressed keen interest in reuniting the street-level heroes of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—The Defenders.

While nothing is confirmed, Winderbaum stated to EW, "The potential to work within that established universe is incredibly exciting... However, unlike comic books, where storytelling limitations are minimal, we have to consider actors' availability, scheduling, and the immense production scale required to build a cinematic universe, particularly for television."

He continued, "Considering all these factors, the creative possibilities are truly exhilarating, and we're actively exploring them."

PlayIt's known that Daredevil: Born Again will directly continue the Netflix Daredevil storyline. Netflix previously hosted its own, smaller-scale Marvel universe featuring Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. Winderbaum's comments suggest Daredevil: Born Again could serve as a springboard to reintroduce these characters within Disney's MCU framework on Disney+. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal's Punisher in the new season further solidifies this potential transfer of Netflix heroes.

For now, we must await the March 4th premiere of Daredevil: Born Again before speculating further on its potential connections to the broader MCU.
