The phenomenal success of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* continues unabated, with the game now surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks. This impressive milestone was proudly announced by developer Warhorse Studios on Twitter, describing the achievement as a "triumph." This follows the game's initial success, where it hit the 1 million sales mark just one day after its release.
The medieval Europe action role-playing game sequel, which hit the shelves on February 4, is available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Warhorse Studios' parent company, Embracer, highlighted the game's particularly strong performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 peak concurrent players. To put this into perspective, the original *Kingdom Come: Deliverance* achieved a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.
It's important to note that the actual peak concurrent player count for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is likely even higher, considering its simultaneous launch on consoles. However, Sony and Microsoft do not release public player statistics.
Embracer, through its subsidiary Plaion, praised *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* for its initial success, not just in terms of sales but also in player and critic reception. "This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and our publisher, Deep Silver," stated Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer.
Wingefors expressed confidence that the game will continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, attributing this to the game's exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal. He also mentioned Warhorse Studios' robust roadmap, which includes updates and new content over the next year, ensuring a continuously engaging experience for the community.
"We are immensely proud of the teams involved in the successful release of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, which has significantly outperformed our expectations so far," Wingefors added.
Looking ahead, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* has an exciting post-launch roadmap with three expansions slated for 2025. Spring will bring free updates including a Barbers feature with additional customization options, Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer will see the release of the first paid content, *Brushes with Death*, where protagonist Henry assists an enigmatic artist with a shadowy past. Autumn will introduce *Legacy of the Forge*, delving into Henry's past and his adoptive father Martin's history. Finally, winter will bring *Mysteria Ecclesia*, sending Henry on a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
