Let the demon hunting begin. Netflix is bringing the iconic video game series Devil May Cry to life with an anime adaptation, and fans have been treated to a thrilling new trailer. What makes this release even more special is the inclusion of the legendary late voice actor Kevin Conroy, who will posthumously star in the series.
Conroy, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated films and TV shows, lends his voice to VP Baines, a new character introduced in the series. You can hear his distinctive voice at the beginning of the trailer, adding depth and gravitas to the narrative.
Back in July 2024, Conroy's posthumous performance in *Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3* received widespread acclaim, and it's heartening to know that fans will have another opportunity to enjoy his remarkable talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66. Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch voicing the protagonist, Dante.According to Netflix's official synopsis, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."
Studio Mir, a respected South Korean studio with credits including The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97, will handle the production of this highly anticipated series. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
