Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Author : Zoe Feb 19,2025

In Avowed, maintaining high-quality weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature Common (Level I) weapons and enemies, but the difficulty quickly escalates to Level II, demanding Fine (Tier II) equipment. This guide details how to acquire and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor:

While some Fine quality items can be found or purchased, others require upgrading. Avowed uses a dual-tier system for gear effectiveness: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and upgrade levels (+1 to +3). Common (I), Green gear upgrades to Fine (II), Blue gear via the +1, +2, and +3 stages.

To upgrade, utilize workbenches located in Party Camps. Each upgrade level (+1 to +3) demands specific materials. Reaching +3 allows upgrading to Fine (II), requiring Adra – a rare crystal obtained through quests, merchant purchases, or dismantling Unique items.

Finding and Purchasing Fine (II) Weapons and Armor:

While upgrading is effective, it's resource-intensive. Alternatively, Fine (II) gear occasionally spawns in Dawnshore early in the game and drops from Level II enemies, particularly Bounties. However, Common gear proves ineffective against Level II foes, necessitating ample health potions.

Merchants in Paradis also sell Fine (II) equipment. Paradis becomes accessible after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Twin merchants near the Paradis Bounty Board offer specialized Fine gear: Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister sells standard weapons and armor (as pictured above).

This comprehensive guide ensures you're well-equipped to face the challenges of Avowed.
