Marvel's upcoming Godzilla crossover series continues with a thrilling new installment: Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1. This one-shot special, revealed exclusively by IGN, pits the King of the Monsters against the wall-crawling hero in a retro showdown.

The story, set in the aftermath of 1984's Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, finds Peter Parker grappling with the symbiote suit shortly after his return from Battleworld. He'll need all his newfound abilities to face the colossal threat of Godzilla.
Written by Joe Kelly (the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch), and illustrated by Nick Bradshaw (with cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land), this issue promises a chaotic and exciting clash of titans.
“The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped for it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This comic lets us unleash the craziness of two iconic characters, capturing the wild energy of that era. Nick Bradshaw perfectly embodies the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his, shall we say, interesting black suit) the respect they deserve. It's a love letter with a monstrous roar!”
This isn't the first time Godzilla has faced Western superheroes; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (and its sequel) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, focuses on the classic Toho Godzilla.
This announcement follows the recent unveiling of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
