Updated on January 15, 2025, by Nathan Round: The Typhoon Blade has quickly risen to prominence as a favored weapon, offering both enhanced mobility and prowess in close combat. This guide has been refreshed to include foolproof methods for obtaining the Typhoon Blade, aiding players in their quest to wield this powerful tool.
How To Get The Typhoon Blade
Looting Typhoon Blade Stands
The most reliable method to obtain the Typhoon Blade is by visiting Typhoon Blade Stands scattered across the island. These stands are not guaranteed to spawn every match, but checking certain hotspots increases your chances. Key locations to explore include:
- Flooded Frogs
- Magic Mosses
- Lost Lake
- Nightshift Forest
- Shogun's Solitude
Simply approach a Typhoon Blade Stand and press the Interact Button to claim the weapon.
Chests & Floor Loot
If you prefer to avoid high-traffic areas, you can still snag a Typhoon Blade from Chests or as floor loot. This method relies more on luck, but it's a viable alternative if the stands in your vicinity have already been looted.
Defeating Demon Warriors
Engaging and defeating Demon Warriors is another way to acquire a Typhoon Blade. These enemies spawn at three active portals each match, marked on the map for easy tracking. While they may drop the Typhoon Blade if they're equipped with it, they might also carry one of the two Oni Masks instead.
Purchase From Kendo
For a guaranteed acquisition, you can purchase the Typhoon Blade from Kendo using Gold Bars. Kendo is located northeast of Nightshift Forest, but first, you must complete all five stages of his Melee Expertise Quests to unlock this purchase option.
Defeating Shogun X (Mythic Only)
To obtain the Mythic version of the Typhoon Blade, you'll need to challenge and defeat Shogun X at Shogun's Arena. This battle requires preparation and skill but rewards you with a powerful variant of the blade.
How To Use The Typhoon Blade
The Typhoon Blade is not just a melee weapon; it's also a mobility tool, thanks to its unique abilities. However, be mindful of its durability, as it will eventually break after prolonged use.
Here's a quick overview of the Typhoon Blade's abilities:
- Passive Ability: Equipping the blade increases your sprint speed and reduces stamina consumption.
- Attack: Press the Shoot Button to execute a slash, dealing 30 damage per hit. Chain attacks into combos, with the final hit delivering 50 damage. Use it in midair for a downward strike that cancels fall damage.
- Cyclone Slash: Activate with the Aim Button for a heavy attack that deals 90 damage and knocks enemies back. This ability has a 10-second cooldown.
- Wind Leap: During a sprint, press the Jump Button to leap high into the air, negating fall damage.
- Air Dash: In midair, press the Jump Button to dash forward, also nullifying fall damage.
