Floatopia Is Coming To Android, And It Has Strong Animal Crossing Energy

NetEase Games unveiled their charming life simulation game, Floatopia, at Gamescom. Expected to launch on multiple platforms, including Android, sometime in 2025, Floatopia presents a whimsical world of floating islands and unique characters. The trailer depicts a picturesque setting where players can engage in farming, fishing, and island customization.

A Surprisingly Cute Apocalypse

The game's premise involves a world-ending event, but fear not! This apocalypse is more akin to "My Time at Portia" than "Fallout." The world is comprised of fragmented lands suspended in the sky, inhabited by individuals possessing varied supernatural abilities. Some powers are more… underwhelming than others.

Players assume the role of Island Manager, undertaking tasks reminiscent of "Animal Crossing" and "Stardew Valley." Cultivate crops, fish amongst the clouds, and meticulously decorate your floating home. The mobile nature of your home allows for exploration of exotic locations and interactions with diverse characters.

Socialization is a key element, with opportunities for shared adventures, island parties, and showcasing your personalized paradise. However, multiplayer is entirely optional; you can choose to enjoy the experience solo.

The game features a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique quirks and, in some cases, superpowers.

While a precise release date remains unconfirmed, pre-registration is available on the official website.
