How to Start Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
The Battle of the Frogs and Mice side quest becomes available after completing either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek and Olbram. Once you've completed one of these quests, the new quest will unlock. To start, simply speak to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov, and then head to the pasture to begin.
Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?
Henry must choose between siding with Prochek or Olbram, but there's also an opportunity to end the feud altogether. To side with Prochek, find him in Tachov and say, “Let’s get those Zhelejovites!” To side with Olbram, locate him in Zhelejov and say, “Let’s go and see those Tachovites!” During the negotiations at the pasture, passing a dialogue check can cause one member of the opposing side to flee, simplifying the fight. Winning the battle for either side will earn you some groschen.
How to Stop the Feud
To achieve a peaceful resolution, talk to either Prochek or Olbram before going to the pasture and ask if they're willing to end the feud. Then, travel to Troskowitz to meet with Bailiff Thrush. Choose the dialogue option, “You’d finally have some peace,” and pass the subsequent dialogue check. If successful, you'll be allowed to read the Troskowitz Chronicle in the scribe's room. If persuasion fails, you can sneak in to read it, but remember to save your game beforehand.
Engage with the scribe and select the dialogue, “Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei.”
Next, go to the pasture and find three oak trees aligned in a row. Inspect the middle tree to discover a nail. You have three options for the nail:
- Leave it in the middle tree to split the pasture equally between Tachov and Zhelejov.
- Move it to the west tree to allocate more land to Tachov.
- Move it to the east tree to allocate more land to Zhelejov.
The choice of nail placement doesn't significantly impact the outcome, so feel free to choose based on your preference or remain neutral. After deciding, speak with Bailiff Thrush again, who will agree to end the feud. Then, bring Prochek or Olbram to the pasture to finalize the peace agreement.
