Elden Ring Preview Test: Time Limitations Unveiled

Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: A Three-Hour Daily Limit

The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction on participants. This limited access test, running from February 14th to 17th, will be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications are currently open via the official FromSoftware website.

Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign generated considerable excitement. While initially, developers stated there were no plans for a sequel or further DLC beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's surprise reveal at The Game Awards 2024 surprised and delighted fans.

This network test serves a crucial purpose: "The network test is a preliminary verification test in which selected testers play a portion of the game prior to the full game launch," FromSoftware explains. "Various technical verifications of online systems will be examined by conducting large-scale network load tests."

Nightreign represents a departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing cooperative gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test suggests a launch is imminent. PC players will need to wait for the official release, as this network test is console-exclusive. The three-hour daily limit, while potentially disappointing to some, is a necessary step in ensuring a smooth launch for the highly anticipated title.
