Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially be tested only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large portion of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco hasn't publicly explained the exclusion of PC players from this initial test phase. However, selected console players will enjoy exclusive early gameplay.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the story of its predecessor, offering new challenges within a dark, unsettling world. While console gamers get a head start, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for message interaction. He stated, "The messaging feature was disabled due to insufficient time for sending and reading messages within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
