Dungeonborne, the PvPvE action game drawing inspiration from the popular Dark and Darker, is shutting down. Less than a year after launch, the developers have announced the end of support and the closure of its servers, citing low player activity and a lack of substantial updates.
While the game's Steam page remains accessible via direct link, it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. Specific reasons for the closure haven't been publicly released, but the dwindling player base is clearly a major factor. Since late 2024, concurrent player counts have rarely exceeded 200, recently plummeting to a mere 10-15 players.
Dungeonborne's servers will permanently close on May 28th, bringing a premature end to this promising title. Despite initial interest from fans of the genre, the game ultimately failed to gain and retain a substantial player base, leaving its full potential unrealized.
